I recently finished this super soft, snuggly, organic baby blanket for a friend who is actually having her baby today--yeah! I'll ship it out tomorrow and hopefully she'll get it by the time she comes home from the hospital. I wish I had this blanket to wrap around a sweet newborn baby. . .oh, I guess I would need a baby too. :O)

ANGELICA QUILT

Not only was this quilt incredibly easy to make and only took an afternoon and evening to make, I absolutely LOVE this quilt. It's beautiful fabric by Amy Butler and I love to just curl up in it. For the front I pieced two strips of the Zink color together (1. 84" x 42", 2. 84" x 20 1/2"). For the back I pieced two strips of the Carmine color together (1. 92" x 42", 2. 92" x 20 1/2"). I SPRAY basted the back to the batting then flipped it over and did the same for the front. Then I used my fabric cutting guide, which is 5" wide x 24" long, and a white marking pencil to mark guide lines on the front fabric (lengthwise). I machine quilted down the lines, trimmed it up and bound it.

Here's a little preview of my next project. It is very Urban Outfitters inspired, as I'm modeling it off a quilt I got there several years ago. I'm super excited to start working on this. I plan to do 1 piece for both the front and back (no piecing) with a hot pink (or something to that effect) binding. To top if off, I'm thinking of using perle cotton thread (PINK!) to add some nice detail. I'll probably alternate machine quilting and hand stitching. We'll see how it turns out!

COWBOYS + INDIANS

I completely fell in love with this adorable fabric (about 2 years ago) and just had to have it. I wasn't sure how much to get, as I had no pattern, but that's how most of my fabric buying experiences go! Buy it now, figure out what to do with it later. I ended up making my own pattern for it. . .simple squares with a very unique design. Still a work in progress (binding) but I'm almost done. More pics soon.
